Role of Education System: Regressive Approach

All new information is viewed in such a manner as to just confirm the authenticity of old information. In this way, the structure of old information is not changed or up-dated in this case. We have defined 'learning' to be the 'updating' of the structure of previous understanding as a result of the application of new information. In regressive approach, basically every effort is made to protect and safeguard the structure of previous understanding. New information is not properly considered and evaluated. Any information that seems to be contradictory to the structure of previous information (understanding) is just rejected without proper considering or evaluating it. Since there occurs no 'up-dating' of the structure of previous understanding, therefore 'learning' also does not occur in a regressive approach of handling any new information.
